Siege at Nune High is a movie made to answer a question: can a feature film be made for no-money and a completely inexperienced crew - who also all mostly happen to be aged between 12 and 15?
Andy Buchan, a Film Studies teacher in Brighton, had often asked himself that question. Because he had no money (the entire budget ended up being a few hundred pounds) but knew many future filmmakers and actors who wanted to move beyond the GCSE shorts they were making (but had no idea how).
Once the story of school kids - one-time enemies but now forced to unite by fighting off an invading horde at school - burst into his imagination, he started to think it could be done. Making an actual movie. What did it matter if he had no equipment, no resources and no clue where to start? He had an idea and that was enough.
And so began a three year journey, from that idea to the film you can now watch. Destined to fail at every turn, it is somehow finished and free for you to enjoy here. An actual movie made by a crew of teenagers for around £500 (and most of that went on biscuits and cakes for the crew!) that we hope you enjoy.
